The foundation of my approach is humanistic, based on the understanding that all individuals are much more than labels or diagnoses.  I also believe that living a full life requires a balance of acceptance and change.  To help my clients attain this balance, I rely on scientifically supported interventions.  I have advanced training in evidence-based therapies including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness-based approaches and trauma-focused therapy.  I trust these treatments because I have seen my own clients make profound changes in weeks or months, instead of years.

At the same time I recognize that, when it comes to treatment, one size definitely does not fit all.  I work to understand my clients' unique strengths and vulnerabilities, and tailor treatment in a collaborative and transparent manner. If you decide to start therapy with me, my role will be to provide you with the tools to better understand your emotions, identify your goals, and move more effectively toward what matters to you.  Your role will be to educate me about you, set goals, and work actively toward them.

Above all, I know it takes real courage to ask for help making personal change.  As your partner in wellness, I am committed to providing a safe, respectful and comfortable space for you to explore difficult feelings and try out new strategies.
